Organic Farming Initiative
In the southern Philippines, we maintain organic demo-farms to train local farmers to seed, grow and harvest organic produce. This locally-grown produce is later sold in the community, supplementing farmers’ livelihoods.
We also provide free organic fertilizers and organic pest control products to farm owners. Our organic demo-farm partners with schools to teach the local community new technical farming skills and the value of organic food.
School Programs
We grant academic scholarships to students in remote farming communities in the southern Philippines. Over the past several years, we pioneered a weekend learning program to improve elementary student proficiency in English, Math, and Science.
We also provide textbooks, backpacks, clothes, shoes and school supplies for children in the Medina Public School District. As part of our effort to improve learning environments, we fund the renovation and repair of older classrooms and finance efforts to build new classroom spaces.
