Float Parade

with Grand Marshal

"Punxsutawney Phil"

SATURDAY NIGHT, FEB. 2nd

6:00 PM

Downtown Hollywood

Mardi Gras Fiesta Tropicale offers the South Florida community several exciting opportunities to be a part of the very heart of Mardi Gras with festive daily parades during the 11th Annual Mardi Gras Fiesta Tropicale.

2008 Mardi Gras Fiesta Tropicale Float Parade

This year Mardi Gras Fiesta Tropicale's Grand Marshal is
"Punxsutawney Phil" the World Famous Groundhog!

The Mardi Gras Parade will start rolling thru downtown Hollywood beginning at approximately 6:00 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 2nd.
Like years past, we won't disappoint the crowd. You will see dozens of elaborate floats, energized marching bands and dancers, and scores of spirited costumed foot entries.

Thrill to the spectacle of more than 2,000 costumed revelers tossing 500,000 coveted doubloons and bead "throws" into the crowd to the enthusiastic strains of "Thro me something, mister! or Ms.! No matter were you stand, sit, jump or dance you will not miss ANYTHING! Get downtown early to get the best seat. There are plenty of prime spots for everyone along the nearly one mile parade stretch.

Just as they do in "The Big Easy", Mardi Gras krewes hold gala balls and other festivities and decorate parade floats. Mardi Gras Fiesta Tropicale's 30 krewes—with themes like Bacchus, Pegasus, Thor and Mystic Gold—are made up of local civic groups, area businesses, neighborhood associations and other organizations.

Parade Tips!

A few secrets to the parade……  Tyler street is the biggest street of the parade and has the most space for watching. ….. get there early to get a post on the barricade to get your share of beads  ……Car Pool so everyone can get a parking space…… Make sure you designate a driver, we are having fun here, not trouble….. keep behind the barricades during the parade, especially children.  The beads laying on the road will be picked up and thrown again, it is not worth getting injured for them….. Make friends with the persons next to you, you will have much more fun with them.
